New Physicians Strengthen Michiana’s Premier Cardiology Team
Mishawaka, Ind. (July 23, 2013)—Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) is pleased to welcome Mohamed Homsi, MD, and Zachary J. Leshen, MD, to the Saint Joseph Physician Network and the Michiana community.
Dr. Homsi, MD, an Electrophysiologist and Dr. Leshen, MD, an Interventional Cardiologist will be joining the team at Midwest Cardiology this July. Together, these expertly trained specialists offer our community access to a new level of care in the prevention, detection and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
As an Electrophysiologist, or EP, Dr. Homsi specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Using diagnostic testing such as cardiac mapping, he detects electrical abnormalities and provides treatment, using either ablation or the implantation of devices such as defibrillators and pacemakers. Dr. Homsi is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and geriatrics.
Dr. Leshen specializes in catheter-based therapies for the treatment of a variety of cardiac and cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. He also focuses on providing advanced preventative care, helping his patients to manage conditions such as hyperlipidemia and hypertension. Dr. Leshen is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and board eligible in interventional cardiology.
