The Center has achieved outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction over 92%, a 91% wound healing rate within 30 median days to heal, among other quality outcomes. Located at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center hospital campus in Plymouth, the Center is a member of the Healogics Network of over 500 centers, which provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating over two million chronic wounds. Last year, more than 1,200 of patients in the community were provided specialized treatment for chronic and non-healing wounds at the Center.
“We’re honored,” says Craig Miller, MD, Medical Director. “It’s a privilege to be part of a great collaborative effort between the hospital, physicians and Healogics. Together, we are able to heal patients in our community, getting them get back to living happy, healthy lives.”
In addition, the Center’s Clinical Nurse Manager Kathy Fick, RN, was honored as a Finalist for the Mary Cook Nurse of the Year. The award is given annually to a dedicated, skilled and compassionate registered nurse who is committed to their patients and to the improvement of care within the expertise.
Her performance was evaluated based on the following key areas: The center’s healing success rate, an overall sense of teamwork, being able to exceed customer expectations, along with a personal sense of integrity, commitment, achievement and continuous improvement.
"I am humbled, and I am blessed to work with a wonderful staff and Medical Director, who are not only supportive but provide quality care,” says Fick. “Any recognition received is because I have good people backing me. It takes a committed staff pulling together as a team to make sure that our patients receive the best possible care.”
