Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Announces Upcoming Relocation of Downtown Plymouth’s Saint Joseph Health Center

New Health Center Location and Increase in Office Space Set to Better Address the Needs ?of the Surrounding Community and Enhance the Overall Patient Experience.

Mishawaka, Ind. – Effective January 20, 2014, Saint Joseph Health Center (SJHC), the community health center located in downtown Plymouth, will relocate to a new, larger space within the Marshall County Community Resource Center (CRC). SJHC will share the facility with numerous human service agencies, including WIC, Real Services, the Center Township Trustee, and the SJRMC Health Insurance Services Department.

Relocating to the CRC was the dream and plans of Dr. Rev. Ronald Lietchy and the late Dr. Ken Guild, 2001 Community Spirit Award recipient – both of whom recognized the prudence of relocation. The new location will now live in the heart of Marshall County addressing the needs of an impoverished and uninsured population that most utilizes the clinic’s outreach services – as outlined in the Community Needs Assessment completed by SJRMC every three years.

"The existing center found patients and healthcare providers in very tight quarters, which often affected patient flow. The design of the new health center is fully optimized to serve our patients best and enhance their experience," said Loretta Schmidt, MSN, CPHQ, president of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.

The new address of the center will be:

Saint Joseph Health Center

510 West Adams Street, Suite 150

Plymouth, IN  46563

P:  574-335-7900

F:  574-335-0850

The new location is readily accessible by local transportation services, still within walking distance for many patients, and offers handicap parking and wheelchair ramps. By fall 2014, more parking will become available to fully accommodate clients, visitors, and staff.

"We look forward to a comfortable, soothing, welcoming atmosphere that encourages patients’ healing and privacy, and the satisfaction of both our patients and associates," said Schmidt.
