Tickets are still available for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s 12th Annual Catch the Spirit Gala, which will be held on Friday, April 16, at the Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth.
This year’s Gala will be honoring highly respected, long-time friend of the Marshall County area, Charlie Eck, with the Community Spirit Award.
“This is a tremendous honor for me to receive the Community Spirit Award,” said Eck. “If you give to your community, your community in turn will give back to you.”
Charlie and his family moved to Plymouth in 1983. He was the President of Bomarko, Inc. from 1983 to 1986. He then opened his own flexible packaging sales business and to date owns and operates Eck & Associates, Inc.
Proceeds from the Catch the Spirit Gala benefit the Saint Joseph Health Center on Washington Street in downtown Plymouth. The Saint Joseph Health Center provides examinations, screenings, and treatment programs to those who lack insurance or are otherwise unable to afford proper medical care of Marshall County and the surrounding areas. The Health Center currently has 276 active patients and has an average of 188 patient visits a month. The Health Center has served over 1,820 patients since its doors opened in 1999. The significant role the Health Center has played in the Marshall County area since then will be highlighted at this year’s Gala.
The Catch the Spirit Gala has generated more than $1 million for the Center of Care Endowment Fund at the Marshall County Community Foundation. This fund creates a perpetual source of revenue for providing quality, accessible healthcare to the underserved residents of our community.
The Gala begins with a reception at 6 pm, followed by dinner and program at 7 pm. To purchase tickets, or for information on underwriting opportunities, call Christina McGovern at (574) 935-2160.
