Eli Lilly & Company’s Oncology on Canvas Coming to Cancer Institute
More than 50 pieces of art from Eli Lilly & Company’s Oncology on Canvas exhibit will be on display at the Saint Joseph Cancer Institute beginning Monday, April 12 through Friday, April 16.
Oncology on Canvas is a biennial international art competition and exhibition developed by Eli Lily & Company in 2004 to help those affected by cancer express their emotions about the disease, an important part of the healing process.
Oncology on Canvas invites individuals diagnosed with any type of cancer, their families, friends, caregivers, and healthcare providers, to express through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning.
Oncology on Canvas is presented by Eli Lilly & Company, in partnership with the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, which advocates for quality cancer care for all Americans and provides tools and resources that empower people affected by cancer and to advocate for themselves.
The exhibit is in honor of April 12-16 being National Cancer Registry Week which is an annual celebration held to promote the quality cancer data management done by Cancer Registry professionals.
Oncology on Canvas can be viewed in the lobby of the Cancer Institute between 8 am - 4:30 pm. The Cancer Institute is located in Pavilion 2 on Cedar Street behind the former SJRMC South Bend Campus.
