SJRMC to Host National Donate Life Month Celebration, April 11

Currently, there are more than 113,000 men, women and children waiting nationwide for a lifesaving organ transplant, and in Indiana alone, there are more than 1,500. On April 11th, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center will proudly partner with Indiana Organ Procurement Organization (IOPO) and numerous local and state agencies to host events in honor of National Donate Life Month.

A donor registration drive will take place in both the Mishawaka campus cafeteria and the Plymouth campus main lobby from 11:00 am to 1:45 pm, with representatives from the IOPO, Donor Services of Indiana, New Life Generation, and Indiana Lions Eye & Tissue Transplant Bank available onsite to answer questions. An Ecumenical Prayer Service will follow in the hospital Chapels at 2:00 pm, where recipient and donor families will be honored.

The Donate Life flag will be flown at both hospitals throughout April to honor those who have given the Gift of Life through organ, eye and tissue donation, as well as those who have received this precious gift, and the Plymouth campus will conclude the afternoon with an official flag raising ceremony.

Register now to be an organ tissue donor at or visit your local Bureau of Motor Vehicles. This simple yet important decision can make such a difference for those in need, and can be a moment that lasts a lifetime.
