SJRMC’s Faithful Lives Celebration Helps to Provide Expert Care to Michiana’s Smallest of Miracles 10/29/2012
Mishawaka, Ind. (October 29, 2012)—The Foundation of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that a limited number of tickets are available for the 14th Annual Faithful Lives Celebration.
Held Thursday evening, November 8, 2012, at the Hilton Garden Inn, the Faithful Lives Celebration recognizes those who exemplify the spirit of the Gospel and service to others. Through this noteworthy event, the Foundation will honor the many talented and compassionate SJRMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and pediatric physicians, nurses, therapists and staff who cared for more than 1,200 babies and children last year. Proceeds will support SJRMC’s Pediatric Services, and in turn will ensure the availability of high-quality healthcare to babies, children and their families—regardless of their ability to pay—without the need to travel outside of the Michiana region for treatment. Dedicated to the total well-being of NICU and pediatric patients and their families, especially the most fragile, SJRMC’s services feature first-rate technology while providing a complete continuum of care through:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) –SJRMC’s designation as a Level III NICU represents the highest level the region offers. As such, the NICU offers private bays designed to give families more space. A neonatologist, neonatal nurse practitioner and nurses who specialize in the care of premature and sick babies provide expert care around the clock.
Inpatient Pediatric Unit –Offering comprehensive pediatric services, SJRMC’s Pediatric Unit includes all private rooms, a playroom for younger children, a lounge for teens, and parents are welcome to stay in the patient room for the duration of the child’s stay. In addition, expert care is provided for children with cystic fibrosis as part of SJRMC’s nationally accredited Cystic Fibrosis Care Center, and for children with asthma through SJRMC’s Asthma Center.
Pediatric Specialty Clinics –In partnership with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent, SJRMC’s Specialty Clinics provide coordinated services for children whose conditions require specialized evaluation and treatment. The Clinics make it possible for young patients and their families to receive care locally, from both area specialists, as well as specialists from Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.
Pediatric Outpatient Therapy –Children with special needs and diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, developmental delay, autism, genetic syndromes or orthopedic conditions receive therapy in a personalized, compassionate, family-friendly environment. Pediatric Outpatient Therapists provide occupational, physical and speech therapies, as well as an aquatics program for children from birth to age 18 years.?
