ICE Michiana Smartphone App Wins the 2012 MarCom Gold Award
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and Force 5, a South Bend based marketing communications firm, are pleased to announce that they have received a 2012 MarCom Gold Award for their work on designing and developing the ICE Michiana smartphone application.
Developed through a grant from the Foundation of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, and launched to the community in August 2012, the now award-winning ICE Michiana smartphone application serves as a way for First Responder personnel to obtain life-saving medical information in the field, and to communicate this valuable information directly to participating Emergency Rooms.
Administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), the MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. Received in the “Design (Web)/Mobile App” category, the MarCom Gold Award was presented to SJRCM and Force 5 as an entry whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence, and whose work serves as a benchmark for their industry’s norm.
More than 6,000 entries from the United States, Canada and several other countries were received by AMCP for the 2012 MarCom competition. Winners were selected from over 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts, including marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity, and electronic/interactive. Of the entries, approximately 18 percent of were “Gold” winners and 10 percent of entries were “Honorable Mention” winners.
“Force 5 is proud to be a recipient winner of the 2012 MarCom Gold Award,” said David Morgan, Vice President of Force 5. “We take great pride in combining expert technology with creative ideas to meet our client’s needs – and to be awarded this recognition is a wonderful achievement for our firm. Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center brought forth an amazing concept, and together we were able transform their ideas into a life-saving application.”
“We are honored to have worked with Force 5 to develop such an important, life-saving application for the greater Michiana region,” said Pam Henderson, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. “SJRMC’s commitment is to the health and well-being of the entire community, and receiving the MarCom Gold Award for this work only reinforces the value that ICE Michiana continues to provide to residents and First Responders across the region.”
