Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center—Mishawaka

Since 1910 Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center—Mishawaka has been providing quality, affordable healthcare to the people of Mishawaka. We pride ourselves on our “first-rate technology, faith-based care.”

The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ first opened this hospital in 1910 to serve the people of Mishawaka with only 40 beds. Responding to the needs of the community, a maternity unit was added in 1916. The hospital has seen several additions over the years, including a 12,000 square foot surgical wing that incorporates many design suggestions from our physicians and nursing staff to enhance patient comfort and staff efficiency. Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center—Mishawaka is now licensed for 125 beds and continues to meet the needs of our community. Highlights of our facility include:

  • Newly remodeled 24-hour Emergency Department.
  • The Genesis Birth Center, which provides complete labor, delivery and post partum care. Birthing tubs have recently been installed for hydrotherapy during labor.
  • A cardiac catheterization lab, which was the first in the area to implement all-digital technology.
  • Our in-house laboratory ensures quicker turn-around times for results.
  • A state-of-the-art radiology department.
  • The area’s only Wound Healing Center, complete with hyperbaric chambers.
  • A hospital-based Transitional Care Center which caters to patients who have been discharged from the hospital, but may still need more care or physical therapy before returning home.
