Growing Green
It’s our mission to improve the health of all we serve – and Mother Nature is no exception.
During the building process, SJRMC followed the Green Guide for Healthcare, a national self-certification program for healthcare construction.
One major focus of these green guidelines is the use of recycled and other environmentally conscious materials for greater sustainability. For example, the bamboo wood you’ll see throughout the building on doors, wall and floors.
Other green initiatives we are proud of include:
- Our mechanical systems are newer and more efficient, which means this facility actually costs less to run.
- Investment in a Low Impact Storm Water Management System and Erosion Control Plan reduces our costs and mitigates impact on the nearby Juday Creek.
- Thanks to our partners in construction Mortenson, Tonn & Blank, 75 percent of our construction waste was recycled.
