Cancer Research & Support

Local cancer patients have the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art cancer prevention and treatment clinical trials, due to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center's support of the Northern Indiana Cancer Research Consortium (NICRC).

The mission of the NICRC is to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality by creating an opportunity for physicians and patients to participate in cancer research and cancer prevention trials and investigations.

  • Patients who participate in a clinical trial will receive one-on-one care with a research professional.
  • Treatment sponsored by the NCI is designed by cancer experts and represents the final stage of a careful search for better cancer prevention and care.
  • The ultimate goal of the NICRC and our participation is to improve the lives of patients with cancer and to prevent cancer when possible.

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center supports the NICRC by providing capable research employees, who staff the Oncology Research & Support Office. For more information call (574) 237-7784.
