Hospitalist Program
Providing an excellent inpatient care experience
At SJRMC, the quality care we provide inpatients is greatly enhanced by our Hospitalist Program.
A Hospitalist is a physician dedicated to inpatient care. These physicians practice diagnostic and therapeutic medicine "in the hospital." They are specially trained to treat patients who may have acute, critical or complex illnesses.
If you are an inpatient, your Hospitalist will direct your care during your hospital stay while ensuring your primary care physician is an integral part of our team and the care process. This is the case even if your physician is not on staff at SJRMC.
Our Hospitalists will:
- Arrange follow-up with your physician
- Notify your physicians of any change in condition
- Send a copy of important documents directly to your physician
