Families who have newborns with special needs can find extra care at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at SJRMC in Mishawaka.
Our NICU, located on the fourth floor, has 12 private rooms where parents are welcome to stay with their baby 24 hours a day. A separate treatment room includes three bays.
Expert care is provided around the clock by a team of professionals, including a neonatologist who is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a neonatal nurse practitioner and nurses specializing in the care of premature and sick newborns.
Each family is given two visitor passes, and all visitors must be accompanied by a parent or posses a visitor pass. Please limit visitors to two at a bedside at a time.
