Visiting Hours
Visiting
hours at South Bend Campus
The following hours have been
carefully chosen so that each patient is allowed an adequate amount of
rest and privacy while at the medical center. If a unit is not listed,
the visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Intensive care unit: One
half-hour visit only beginning at 6:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m.,
12:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. No children under 12,
and please limit to two persons by the bedside at a time.
- Cardiac care
unit: Short visiting hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m.
- Cardiothoracic
recovery unit: Immediate family may visit at any time except
7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Only two visitors at a time are
allowed at the bedside.
- Progressive cardiac unit: Short
visiting hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- The
Family Birthplace (obstetrics unit): Fathers, siblings or
a support person may visit any time Other visitors may visit from
11 a.m. to 8 p.m. No children under 12.
- Neonatal intensive
care unit (NICU): Parents are welcome to stay with their child
24 hours a day except from 7-7:30 a.m., and 7-7:30 p.m. Each family
is given two visitor passes. Please limit visitors to two at
a bedside at a time.
- Pediatrics: Parents are welcome and encouraged to spend 24-hours-a-day with their child.
Friends/relatives 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Visiting hours for all other
units: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Visiting
hours at Plymouth Campus
- Critical
care unit: Nurses determine whether or not patients should
have visitors based on their condition and, if so, at what times.
Only two visitors are allowed during any 15-minute visiting period. Priority
is given to immediate family members.
- New
Beginnings Birthplace: All
visitors should check with the nursing staff before visiting a patient.
Fathers, siblings and grandparents are permitted open visitation. Friends
may visit from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Medical/surgical
unit: Visiting
hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Laboratory
outpatient: Monday through
Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Visiting
hours at Mishawaka Campus
- Medical and surgical
floor: Noon
to 8 p.m.
- Genesis Birth Center: Birth partners
and immediate family are welcome anytime. Siblings may visit from 7 a.m.
to 10 p.m and friends and relatives from noon to 8 p.m.
- Pediatrics: Parents
are welcome and encouraged to spend 24-hours-a-day with their child.
Friends and relatives can visit from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Intensive care unit: Visiting hours
are arranged according to each patient’s condition and family
needs.
- Progressive
care unit: Noon to 8 p.m.
- Transitional Care Center: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- General visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to
8 p.m.
