Welcome in your newest member of the family at the New Beginnings Birthplace at our Plymouth Campus. Find a warm environment with all the amenities you need to make your childbirth experience as comfortable as possible.
Here, mother and newborn are together privately, just like at home. There is plenty of room in our private labor, delivery and recovery rooms for husbands and birth partners to spend the night, and siblings and grandparents to visit. Your newborn can sleep at your side, or if you prefer, in our fully equipped nursery. Wherever you are, our state-of-the-art infant security system ensures your baby will be safe.
Education is an important part of our care plan. Our staff is available to address your questions and concerns. To ensure the best communication and coordination of care, the same nurse will care for both mother and baby.
Neonatal Intensive Care
Sometimes newborns need a little extra care. Rest assured that if your baby has complications that require more advanced medical treatment, our trained team can transport your child to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at our hospital in Mishawaka.
Lactation Center
Our Lactation Center offers resources for expecting and new mothers, including:
- A prenatal breastfeeding class and weekly support group for breastfeeding moms.
- Postpartum lactation consultations for moms and babies learning to breastfeed.
- Outpatient lactation consultations for weight checks, problem solving, pump sales and rentals.
- For more information call 574.941.2922
Going Home
Even after you and your baby go home, we are here to help. Lactation consultants are available to assist new mothers from birth throughout the breastfeeding period. A New Beginnings Birthplace nurse will even visit you at home to help make your adjustment to parenthood easier.
