Special services for family
Parents and family of our babies are always welcome in the NICU. While this is a difficult time for families, our nurses and physicians work to provide emotional support.
Family education
Parent education is an important part of the plan of care. The staff is available to address you questions and concerns. Throughout your baby’s stay, you will learn about basic care techniques, observing and knowing your baby's stress and stability cues, as well as specific information you may need to care for your baby.
Loving care keepsakes
The NICU staff has partnered with Creative Memories to have regular scrap booking events with families and NICU staff. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to share and support one another and create cherished memories of their babies.
NICU Follow-up Clinic
The NICU Follow-up Program assists high-risk NICU graduates coordinating services while working carefully with their primary care physicians. The clinic serves as a safety net during the transition from the intensive care environment to the medical home and community resources.
The follow-up clinic team helps to identity problems at the earliest possible time and creates strategies to maximize recovery.
The team consists of a neonatologist, a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, a case manager, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a pediatric dietician and social services. Sub-specialty interfaces will be orchestrated as needed.
