Pediatric Specialty Clinics
We’re here for your child
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center offers a variety of pediatric clinics, some of which are in partnership with Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis. These clinics make it possible for patients to receive treatment locally, rather than driving several hours for much-needed healthcare.
The Saint Joseph Pediatric Specialty Clinics serve as a referral center for children whose conditions require specialized evaluation and treatment. Referrals are made by primary care physicians, other healthcare professionals and, occasionally, by families. Programs are tailored to meet the individual needs of both family and child. Specialized teams provide diagnosis, treatment, assistance and support to help the child successfully manage the medical problem and live a full life.
Clinics partnered with Riley:
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and its affiliates have teamed with Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis to provide treatment and follow-up for children with diabetes. Every physician is a board-certified, pediatric endocrinologist and works with the primary physician to maintain control of the child’s disease process. The treatment team consists of a specially-trained pediatric dietitian, a social worker, an endocrinologist, a nurse practitioner, nurses and a diabetologist.
Once a month, pediatric cardiologists from Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis come to staff our Pediatric Cardiology Clinic. These specialists join local pediatricians, a nurse practitioner, registered nurses and a pediatric dietitian in evaluating, treating and following up with the children. If needed, Echo, Electrocardiogram (EKG) , x-ray, laboratory and other tests are available on site.
A board certified pediatric rheumatologist from Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis comes to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center at least four times a year. She assists local physicians with the ongoing management of patients with complicated rheumatic problems and provides consultation for each patient with musculoskeletal problems. Local physicians and occupational therapists are also available for consultation during these clinics.
In affiliation with Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center—South Bend provides specialty services to children with hormonal imbalances. Board-certified pediatric endocrinologists from Riley come to our Outpatient Center twice a month to evaluate, diagnose and treat children who are referred to the clinic by their primary care physicians or by other sources. Our local nurse practitioner and healthcare team assist with client follow-up.
The Pediatric Specialty Clinic is again partnering with Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis for our Gastroenterology Clinic. We see children newborn through 18 to diagnose, treat and offer follow-up care for conditions involving the esophagus, stomach, intestines, gallbladder, bile ducts and associated digestive organs. Besides the specialists from Riley, we have nurse practitioners, nurses, a pediatric dietitian and social worker to assist patients.
