If you’re not aware of it yet, you’ll be relieved to know that most surgical procedures you or your loved ones could need are available right here in Marshall County. Saint Joseph Surgical Department, on the Plymouth Campus of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, has the technology and the staff to take great care of you—better care, in fact, than you’d likely receive at some bigger, metropolitan hospitals.
New surgery wing
Our new surgical wing and dedicated staff has the technology, training and skill to handle not only common surgical procedures, but also many of the most advanced. The new surgical wing houses four new surgery suites complete with laminar flow (an air exchange system), anesthesia machines and equipment booms to maximize efficiency and workflow. The post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) has also been expanded from two to six beds, complete with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment.

- Ear, nose and throat surgery.
- General surgery.
- Gynecological surgery.
- Laser surgery.
- Lithotripsy.
- Ophthalmology.
- Orthopedic surgery.
- Total join replacement.
- Urological surgery.
- Vascular surgery.
Patients requiring open-heart surgery or those with serious head wounds are transferred to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center—South Bend Campus, or to another hospital.
