Caring for the community

The Foundation of Saint Joseph Health System is building our future on the strong foundation of our past. We live the values of our faith-based mission by providing resources that help fund care across our health system: acute care in hospitals, patient care in community clinics and community health initiatives such as diabetes prevention and health screenings.

We can only provide these funds through generous donors like you who support our mission. Your gifts can make a difference in the lives of everyone in our region. With many convenient ways to give, The Foundation makes it easy for you to improve community wide health by giving in a way that is the most meaningful to you.

Stories of impact

Charles Shumba

Nurse Charles Shumba

Saint Joseph Health System is called to care for our entire community, but our dedicated staff colleagues couldn’t do it without your help. One of those colleagues is Charles Shumba, a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The wife of a patient Charles cared for described her husband’s connection to Charles and it shows the kind of compassionate, effective patient care your contributions support.

Margot Ann Witous

Margot Ann Witous's story

Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is an integral part of providing care to all our patients. Because of donations to the Foundation, we are able to directly support families who have children under care in the NICU. The Witous family experienced the compassionate care of our NICU staff firsthand with the birth of their daughter, Margot Ann Witous. Margot’s parents, Jessica and Mikey Witous, shared their story and show the ways in which your donations to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit help those who need it.
