The SJHS bronchoscopy team recently performed the 150th robotic-assisted bronchoscopy since the technology was introduced in Spring of 2025.

The state-of-the-art, minimally invasive procedure is used to diagnose lung conditions, including lung cancer, with unprecedented precision.  This allows for earlier detection and increased chances of detection at a more treatable stage.

Donor support through the Foundation of SJHS funded the original purchase of the ION Robotic Bronchoscopy and is also funding the Spring 2026 purchase of additional scopes and equipment to allow us to see more patients per day as demand has grown. This quality of care is a perfect example of philanthropic support driving technological advancement which improves the care provided to the patients of SJHS.
