On Sunday, September 14, Saint Joseph Health System hosted a heartwarming NICU reunion at the Education Center in Mishawaka, bringing together former NICU families and the dedicated care teams who supported them during some of their most challenging moments.

The event welcomed dozens of families whose children once received care in our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It was a joyful afternoon filled with laughter, hugs and heartfelt stories as parents and children reconnected with the nurses, physicians and staff who played a vital role in their early journeys.

Children enjoyed a variety of activities from crafts and games to photo opportunities while parents shared memories and milestones with the caregivers who helped guide them through their NICU experience. The reunion served as a powerful reminder of the resilience of our tiniest patients and the deep bonds formed between families and care teams.

Both WSBT and ABC57 covered the event. Click the links to view their stories which captured the joy and emotion of the day. Reporters spoke with families and care providers, highlighting the inspiring stories of strength and recovery that began in our NICU.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the NICU reunion a meaningful and memorable occasion. Your compassion and commitment continue to make a lasting impact.
