DONOR SUPPORT OF NICU FUNDS HIGH-TECH ISOLETTES
October 16, 2025
When a baby is born before 28 weeks, often weighing less than 2 pounds, they require highly specialized medical care. These babies face critical challenges including fluid balance instability, increased infection risks, neurodevelopment vulnerabilities, and the ability to regulate their own body temperature,
Generous donors underwrote the purchase of specialized incubators, the Babyleo Isollette IncuWarmer. The equipment keeps babies warm and comfortable, replicating the womb environment and helping babies conserve energy that can be used for growth and development. The Isolette protects the skin by keeping the air humid, reducing water loss, and even comforts the baby with the recorded sound of their mother’s own heartbeat.
To facilitate emotional support, the family can get close and touch the baby with the design of the device allowing for height adjustment for wheelchair access and promotion of parental bonding.
We are excited to introduce the new isolettes to support positive outcomes in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Joseph Health System.
