SJHS names Dr. Genevieve Lankowicz as Chief Clinical Officer
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (August 24, 2020) — Saint Joseph Health System has announced that Chief Medical Officer Dr. Genevieve (Jen) Lankowicz has accepted the added executive responsibility of the SJHS Medical with the new title SJHS Chief Clinical Officer. She will adopt the duties of Mike Ferry, SJHS Medical Group Vice President, who is retiring.
Dr. Lankowicz joined SJHS in July 2018, bringing a broad range of experience in healthcare leadership and management. She began her career in a tertiary care setting working with fellow faculty members to support Family Medicine residents and medical students. She next joined a partner in private practice in Setauket, NY. In 2001, she and her family moved to Indiana to join Elkhart General Hospital as an employed family physician in Osceola. While there, she earned certification as a physician executive (CPE) from the American Association for Physician Leadership. After serving as Chief of Staff for two years, she became the first Vice President of Medical Affairs at Elkhart General and pursued a master's degree in Business Administration. She then assumed operational responsibilities for numerous hospital departments at Elkhart General in 2015 as well as helped develop the health system’s medical group and served on its governance board. In 2017, Dr. Lankowicz joined the Cassopolis Family Medicine Network as Chief Medical Officer and managed outpatient office operations, quality of care for ambulatory services and medical office efficiency.
Dr. Lankowicz earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and genetics/development from Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences as a Cornell Tradition Scholar and her medical degree from Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine, where she completed her training at the Family Medicine Residency program.
