After completing my Urology training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, I sought out subspeciality training in Genitourinary Reconstruction here at Loyola. This fellowship focused on the surgical reconstruction of some of the most difficult problems in urology. I pride myself on taking care of patients who have difficult issues and may have even had another urologist them, “There’s nothing we can do to fix that.” I see problems that can be sensitive for patients to talk about, such as urinary incontinence or erectile dysfunction, and in many cases patients may not have discussed these problems with anyone else. I have specific clinical interests in abdominal urologic reconstruction (e.g. uretero-pelvic junction obstruction, ureteral strictures, fistulas), urethral reconstruction, urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. I have also pioneered the use of robotic minimally invasive surgery in urology reconstruction. My goal is always to be a trustworthy and honest person in all aspects of life, and no area is more important than when I am with a patient.
