Internal Medicine Selective
Four weeks are devoted during a resident’s 3rd year to this selective rotation aimed at offering the resident additional training in a specific Internal Medicine Subspecialty of their choosing. Options include, but are not limited to: Nephrology, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and Gastroenterology. During this rotation, the resident will accompany his/her assigned preceptor at varying locations ranging from inpatient to outpatient settings gaining experiential learning via role-modeling and one-on-one teaching from their preceptor. Residents will be directly involved in the care and management of patients admitted to the hospital, especially those who are also admitted to our Family Medicine Service.
